fonts edit

Post by lemgeo »

Hi

I have a 5reel DCP and 5 subs.xml. Each sub.xml is "assingned" with a ttf font.
For example mymovie_reel1 is "assingned" with Arial_mymovie_1.ttf
mymovie_reel2 is "assingned" with Arial_mymovie_2.ttf etc.

From edit font tab i choose the corresponding ttf for each sub.xml.
Each subtitle folder of the created DCP contains all the 5 ttf and one sub.xml.
Am I doing something wrong? Hope it makes sense what I describe.

Thanks

Do you have "reels" set to "by video content" in the DCP tab? If not it may have coalesced your reels into one.

Yes, i have set "reels" to "split by video content".

The created DCP has 5 subtitle folders and each folder contains all the 5 ttf.
I forgot to mention that i'm making a VF package.

I think the sub application I use is compressing fonts by throwing characters that are not in use.
All the different ttf are actually Arial with different size. I can combine the 5 subs to one and then use the ttf of the combined sub
to my 5 different subtitles. But I was thinking an extreme situation of using other than Arial fonts to one of the reels.

Thanks

So, you are experimenting with font compressor? Because, normally, ARIAL does not need to be compressed, you could easily get away with a single font file.
