Apple silicon

Is the current release of DCP-o-matic compiled for Apple silicon? I found some posts on testing, but not seeing specifics on release.

Re: Subtitles

Carsten, I'm a novice at this and just an intermediary between the festival folks and the theater folks. The projects are Barco. And, I'm unfamiliar with framing charts. We built a new macro for the festival and included all of the elements that are standard for general theater play at this location...

Re: Subtitles

Carsten, It may have been 'pilot error' when the subtitle issue was seen. I wasn't there at the time so am getting the info second hand. I think the issue may have been related to a bad profile that was applied to the macro. I think the profile was cropping the height. I worked with them and we got ...

Subtitles

Hi, We're working our way through issues and took Carsten's advice to use 2TB NTFS drives with MBR partitions. That seems to work, contrary to what we were told by the distributors. The projector is a Barco. The next unexpected challenge is subtitles. What we're doing is expanding the different aspe...

Re: DCP file copy windows

Carsten, I'll check and see. My initial tests with USB thumb drives and external USB drives showed they needed to be ext2. Rejected NTFS and Fat/ExFat. The theater owner checked with the equipment dealer/service group and they said the CRU drive needed to be ext. They said 4TB was OK, even though th...

Re: DCP file copy windows

I booted the workstation in Ubuntu in try mode on a USB stick, mounted the ext2 CRU drive in read/write, and successfully copied all of the DOM child directories that were giving me problems and errors. The theater projector only accepts an ext2 formatted CRU drive. I agree the problem is most likel...

DCP file copy windows

Hi, We've dcp'd all the festival films and are copying to a 4TB CRU drive to injest into the projector. I'm using Paragon ExtFS to use/mount the CRU drive. However, I'm having a problem in windows and it is balking at copying the large DOM files over a couple of GB. The error I get is 'insufficient ...

Re: Installing DOM in Ubuntu

And, as another addendum, I finally got the 4TB CRU drive formatted by Ubuntu. Since I had troubles installing DOM on Ubuntu, I thought I go back and try to mount/use the Ubuntu formatted drive in Windows. Low and behold, Paragon ExtFS recognized and mounted the drive, And, the performance was subst...

Re: Installing DOM in Ubuntu

Also, I tried to install from the shell with

sudo dpkg -i dcpomatic_2.10.5-1_amd64.deb

It started running, but produced a number of errors after the unpack.

Looks like most of the errors are related to dependencies (libxmlsec1, libboost, etc)

Again, I'm a totally newbie here.

Thx,

Jim

Installing DOM in Ubuntu

Hi, I've been having problems mounting an ext2 CRU drive in Windows 10. Tried Ext2FSD and Paragon ExtFS with lots of problems and slow performance. I have a 4TB Seagate Barracuda and ExtFS just doesn't seem to like GPT. I tried Partition Magic Pro, but the partitions it makes don't seem to be viewab...
