Re: Help wanted with testing on M1 (Apple Silicon) Mac

Hi all,

I already sent Carl my benchmark results, but for the readers here:
the Mac mini M1 does over 11 fps with the native ARM code (DOM 2.15.120)
Looks good!

PS Carl: the link you posted points to an (older) RC version atm: v2.15.115
That one probably does not have native ARM code!

Only did a short test (making DCP of 2 minute 2k scope trailer) and got 9.4 fps. Looks good! I was a bit puzzled by the low memory usage (something like 350...

Re: 1.78 in Version 2.12.6

With having 1920x1080 back as an (advanced) option you can work around the scaling problem of burnt-in bitmapped subs with for for example Blu-ray material. See: https://dcpomatic.com/mantis/view.php?id=1246 Now I always juggle with an extra 96% X-scaling factor (1920/1998) to get things approx. cor...

Re: H.264 GOP length

Also have a look at "mpv". It's awesome,
and of course it has step-back-one-frame:

I hardly use anything else nowadays!
