Re: DCP with 16 audiochannels?
According to SMPTE-RDD-52:2020-Bv2.1 specification If you are doing DCP in this format, then unused audio channels should be padded with soft sounds For example, in new versions of EasyDCP, it is no longer possible to create audio of 6 channels - only 16. I ran into the opposite problem - I needed t...

kdm emailing
there are a couple of wishes for the key generator 1. Now if email is not specified in the cinema settings, but an additional email is specified, then sending will not occur. 2. need the checkbox "send only to additional emails" for ignoring the addresses of cinemas. 3. it would be nice to...

Re: Internet/web delivery of DCPs
Hi, I use many metods for internet delivery 1. Torrent - isa simple, fast and helps to take the burden off you when someone has already downloaded and he will also distribute 2. FTP - not so difficult copy\past full path to Filezilla, even our grandmothers can handle it 3. Resilio Sync 4. Data Exped...

Re: Duration and entry point in CPL
It's not like it's a holdover from the film when the leaderboards were needed, but in reality I very rarely see DCP where they are. Also, more and more often DCPs are made without splitting into reels. the only thing is full-fledged work with reels - for example, as in Transkoder or Clipster - I can...

Re: Is certificate expiration a problem ?
Hi, Yes, re-signing is easy with easyDCP but it cannot be done with their CLI so batch processing is not possible. It would be possible to use openssl to at least detect the expired certs in a batch of DCPs - I have to check. Do you have a link to the DKDM>Digest ruby script you're talking about, i...

Re: 4K vs 2K
I have created a 4K DCP Flat, that’s the original resolution. I have also created a 2K DCP Flat. When showing it on 2K projectors is there any advantage using the 4K version over the 2K one? Thanks a lot! no need to create 2 dcp's 4K j2000 also contain downstreams 2K 1K 0.5K this is built into the ...

Re: GPU based DCP encoding
I don't know if my experience will be useful Carsten talks about network saturation all the time, but it's not that important anymore. Most local area network has 1G/s, that's 112mb/s - let me ask you, do you often deal with source video with 1G/s bitrate? Ok, I work in RAW 4-6-8K with ARRI RED and ...

Re: DCP with Atmos for Cinema Release
in fact, to work with Dolby Atmos, you need a ready-made mxf from a sound studio with sound effects, as well as 5.1 or 7.1 sound - easydcp itself creates a control sync signal in channel 14. I can't tell you about the DOM. But I don't think there should be any problem with that.
