Re: Any possible solution for Atmos content today?
But considering that this feature has not yet appeared for a long time, I am worried that there may be something that prevents BMD from adding this feature, such as Dolby not allowing them to do so. Given Dolby's history of aggressively protecting their turf I am inclined to still believe this. NON...

Re: Dolby Atmos in DCP package
I think DaVinci Resolve Studio 18 support Dolby Atmos for Cinema, it's considered as a cinema focused software 😅 No, it doesn't. Resolve supports Dolby Atmos IMF IAB. That isn't a theatrical file format and it does not import into easyDCP (I tried). Carsten is right in that there is no commercial s...

Re: Stereo audio to 6 - 5.1 Audio
+1 for the UM226. Use it all the time to upmix our ad reel from stereo to 5.0. No LFE as it's too unpredictable depending on the source content.

Re: Can a general KDM only limit the time instead of the device?
Don't think so. KDMs are always encrypted based on the public decryption certificate of the 'target device', and there's no universal version of that.

Re: Newbie Question
I bring everything into Davinci Resolve and level each video out so it plays at 82Leq(m). There's still some inconsistency in dialog from one video to the next, but there are no huge volume spikes.

Re: Multi CPL dcp
The combiner isn't in the manual.
It's a separate program that's included with the install. You enter a bunch of existing packages and it'll combine all the media files and CPLs into a new, single package with a single PKL and Asset Map.

Re: Any possible solution for Atmos content today?
The cause of this problem is that each set of tools currently uses a different ADM profile. The EAR Production Suite uses the EBU ADM Production profile, whereas the Dolby Atmos tools use Dolby’s ADM profile specification. That's exactly what I was saying, that ADM files exported from ProTools or R...

Re: Any possible solution for Atmos content today?
From what I've read ISDCF IAB is finished, it just hasn't been adopted (yet) by most studios and content creation packages.

Re: Any possible solution for Atmos content today?
I'm pretty sure Resolve could do SMPTE IAB right now if it wanted to, since it can write IMF IAB files. For whatever reason they aren't adding that ability in. And just for kicks I tried adding an IMF IAB file to a DCP with EasyDCP and it wouldn't accept it, so there are some differences between the...

Re: Any possible solution for Atmos content today?
I'm not 100% sure either, other than speculating that it was a requirement from Dolby because that's the only thing that really makes sense. The licensing around object based audio looks to be very, very complex. For example, Resolve, Pro Tools, Nuendo and Logic Pro can write ADM files for object ba...
