Re: making a VF for a DCP not authored in DOM
As a side note, another SMPTE DCP came in my hands recently with no zero-subtitles on the first and last (credits) reel. I feel a bit envious towards people who use really expensive software and hardware like Clipster, and end up producing crap, because they don't know and they don't care to do a s...

Re: What is the subtitle frame rate when making a VF DCP?
I ask because when I check subtitles in DOM and DOM player, I see perfect sync at the beginning, but if I stop and go later in the film, the subtitles are out of sync. I can't tell if this is the fault of DOM playback or if there is a sync issue. What is going on and how can I verify VF subtitle sy...

Re: "KDM is invalid" in logs
Are you supposed to do something with this DCP other than screen it? Is so, you need a DKDM from the one who created the DCP. If not, you need a regular KDMs targeted at cinema servers so you can screen the DCP. You cannot make KDMs yourself or altering the existing DCP if you don’t have a DKDM targ...

Re: dcp folder name question
The folder can be renamed to whatever you like. But then you are only renaming the folder itself, not the DCP.
The screening servers are not looking at the name of the folder.

KDM and DKDM is technically the same thing so yes, you can do that.

Re: Adding Festival logo to a DCP with multiple VFs
Subtitles in general should not get out of sync if new assets are added to the DCP as a new reel. Is this festival supposed to be with this logo on the DCP everywhere it will be screened? Also not on this festival? If this logo is only supposed to be there on this particular festival then just tell ...

Re: Textless elements as supplemental DCP
This is waht i was asked in dcp specs thats why i asked. Thinking of it like Netflix IMF where you make additional "frames" and play on top of OV i imagine. Yes, IMF and DCP works exactly the same regarding this. You replace the entire frames, not just the graphics on a textless elements....

Re: dcp-o-matic used for free KDM service. Comments please.
This sounds very promising. My dream is to be able to give my clients access to some kind of portal that allow the clients to do KDM orders but still only to some already defined cinemas. For example in my home country I am often the one who are generating the KDMs for the entire country. At the mom...

Re: Textless elements as supplemental DCP
Textless elements are not something you have in a DCP. What you are referring to is to replace part of frames from the OV so the VF use the same jpeg2000 frames from the OV except the one that have the graphics, you might want to replace that by another language graphic. Replace just some frames fro...

Re: Cinema with 2 projector TDL KDM
It's nice to have the function back live and working, but there is something I don't get. As a workaround, wouldn't it be possible to make two "screens", "Screen 01a" and "Screen 01b" and make KDMs for "both"? And I only mention here a workaround, not because...
