Re: VLC 2.2.0

Should this work on the mac (intel) version as well? My win7-machine is on strike at the moment and I can't get it to play on my mac. Just a black frame.

Re: 25fps v 24fps

I'm reading that "a SMPTE DCP with 25/30 fps and a 24 fps interop backup is the safest way" -for delivering to cinemas at the moment. And I'm trying to get my head arround this "ISDCF Mixed Distribution Package". Does that mean delivering a SMPTE and Interop DCP in the same folde...

Re: reuse rendered frames?

OK, I just tried this on a short clip, and the PC version will also rerender all frames, so I was mistaken here. Is it possible to make DCP-o-matic reuse the rendered frames when I'm just changing from 25FPS to 24FPS? No new frames should be needed as the audio is just stretched to fit the slightly ...

reuse rendered frames?

I was under the impression that DCP-o-matic reused rendered frames when a I wanted to make a second DCP from the same project, but twice now it has rerendered all frame from scratch on the OSX version 1,730. What I do is that I from a 25FPS MOV source first render a 25FPS DCP that takes 12 hours and...

Re: DCP Versioning Tool

Under "Use ISDCF name" > details, one can specify version and subtitle, but that's perhaps not what George was asking for?

Re: What if I actually DO NOT want a color conversion ?

From what I can find (in the vast oceans of the interwebbs) ProRes only works in Rec. 709. Can someone confirm this?

Re: What if I actually DO NOT want a color conversion ?

So what would the color space be of a ProRes 4444 mov rendered from FinalCutPro7? Is it the codec or FInalCut that decides the color space?

I have always found this very confusing. And I do notice that when I make a DCP from a ProRes and use sRGB the blacks are just a bit gray.

Re: MBR and 2TB limit?

In windows it is possible to "initialize" a 3TB hard-drive with MBR and it will then only allow partitions up to 2TB in total leaving the rest of the drive empty, but I don't know if that will be recognized in a DCI server ether.

MBR and 2TB limit?

Now that 3TB harddrives are becoming cheaper than 2TB ones I feel this question is slowly becoming relevant.

How would You format at 3TB or larger harddrive to work with a DCP, since MBR is, if I understand this correctly, limited to 2TB in total disk size.
