Re: add PAC subtitles PC for projecting WITH DCP SERVER

There would be a simple/universal solution to this. It is actually already in use for subtitling in cinemas, but it is not open - you have to contract a company so they deal with data and logistics. It uses audio fingerprinting to sync subtitles. The only thing needed is an audio track, not even a w...

Re: add PAC subtitles PC for projecting WITH DCP SERVER

I don't think this will be easy without generating a new DCP. Is that DCP encrypted? DCI servers have no standard means to output sync signals. Even if, you need hardware and software that is able to read the sync code and display subs with it. I know such things exist, but, there is no broad market...

Re: Audio delay out on video

Okay, so no transcoding it seems? Weird that it has duplicate timestamps then.

Re: 720x576/4:3/PAR 1.09 - 1.33 (4:3) or 1.38 (Academy)?

Alright. So, you may as well go with 1.38/Academy in the current stable release, as that is close enough. No need to use the test version 2.15.31 in that case (I recommend the test version with it's corrected non-square pixel handling if the aspect ratio is too far away from any of the presets). In ...

Re: 720x576/4:3/PAR 1.09 - 1.33 (4:3) or 1.38 (Academy)?

Carl just cleared an issue in DCP-o-matic dealing with non-square pixels (all DVDs and DV/D1 use non-square pixels). If you don't mind installing a test version, try 2.15.31 and choose 'no stretch' - that will keep the original aspect ratio of the source. Per current default, DCP-o-matic uses the Sc...

Re: Audio delay out on video

Could you see which software was used for that RIP? Is this embedded in the original optical media, or has it been introduced by the ripping software?

Re: Exporting to ProRes (packaging?) and frame-rate accuracy.

Maybe, yes, but the trouble is, we don't know exactly how these files are interpreted and dealt with. I think they are ok as far as the assets go within them - otherwise, reimporting a ProRes export from a DCP wouldn't give the exact number of frames and audio blocks as in the original DCP source (w...

Re: Audio delay out on video

Would be interesting to know wether issues like this persist with certain source files. That would lead to some specific audio streams/codecs causing problems.

Re: 720x576 to Fit Screen

Issue solved in 2.15.30. Perfect cropping, very easy, even with asymmetric cropping on all sides, perfect aspect ratio is maintained. Bildschirmfoto 2019-11-09 um 22.56.44.png And when I started playing with the 'No stretch' option now working properly with square and non-square pixel content, I not...
