Re: Private film premiere in an IMAX

This head of projection probably has not enough insight yet.
Of course their system will be able to play 1.43 and IMAX sound. Just not using home-brew DCPs.

No, there is no 'new' IMAX projection system.

Re: Unable to Open Player on Mac OS Catalina

At first, I would:

- reboot the machine
- trash the existing player and downloaded DMG archive
- download it from scratch
- try again

Re: transferring DCP to flash drive

Just use NTFS. All cinema servers can read NTFS. If you use a spinning disc or SSD for transfer, you have to make sure the drive is formatted using an MBR partition table (that is another important choice to make besides NTFS). As far as I have experienced, USB flash discs always come with an MBR pa...

Re: transferring DCP to flash drive

@cjackson526: What operating system are you working on? How large/long is the DCP you intend to transfer?

Benchmarking/encoding speed on fast CPUs

There is a new DCP-o-matic benchmark number now for the new AMD Ryzen 9 5950X CPU. https://dcpomatic.com/benchmarks/input.php?id=1 Now, that is an impressive number for a single CPU. CPU configurations that come close to that number so far cost a lot more. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus....

Re: Could not open MXF file for reading (error-101)

Where does that MXF originate from? Very likely that it is either corrupt, or not a compliant digital cinema MXF file.

Re: Support for macOS pre 10.9

Would, again, be nice to just keep a 'quick access' download of the latest working version for prior systems.

Re: MXF parse utility?

BTW - Carl, there appears to be a bug when converting a subtitled SMPTE DCP to an IOP DCP (as I suggested trying to Harold): When I load a subtitled SMPTE-DCP into DCP-o-matic and create a subtitled IOP DCP from it, it does unwrap the subtitle XML from the MXF, but misses to unwrap and apply the fon...

Re: MXF parse utility?

So, Clipster creates a subtitle file that crashes asdcplib's unwrap? I guess John would be interested.

Re: MXF parse utility?

What if you load the subtitled SMPTE DCP or MXF subtitle into DCP-o-matic and simply convert it to Interop, then look into the subtitle folder? However, if the player fails on this DCP, it is likely that DCP-o-matic main will fail as well. But, Harold, you may still try. But maybe the trouble is wit...
