Re: "Cannot reference this DCP: it does not have open subtitles in all its reels"

It may be that the warning hint's at a different issue, but the main one is still that you can not reference a VF. I remember some discussion with Carl about some DCP constraints - I think it's on Mantis. And I think these constraints say - if one reel of a DCP contains a specific asset type, video ...

You can not reference to a VF, I'd say. You need to reference to the OV.

Re: "Error in writing video MXF" (error-16) help

Again, try it with reel size set to 2GB. Not that this would point to something immediately. Aside from virus protection software, I think we never came across something like that so far.

If we can't solve it, you may use that notebook as an encoding server for the other machine.

Re: "Error in writing video MXF" (error-16) help

Wow. Weird...

Overheating? Memory issue? Maybe the source footage is corrupt (although that would probably give a different error).

How much space is free on the internal drive? What about virus protection software?

Re: DOM Player and DCP Integrity

DCP-o-matic player offers a 'simple' data integrity test. It checks file hashes. That is usually sufficient if you want to test for file transfer integrity. It will take a while though, so if you do this often, you should use a very fast CPU and check from SSD. Clairmeta and dcp_inspect test many fo...

Re: "Error in writing video MXF" (error-16) help

It's really just the duration for encoding (and maybe some delays/sluggishness in the GUI with certain operations), there is no quality penalty for using slower/older hardware.

An antivirus software could be another reason for unexpected hangups. I think we had some very few issues before.

Re: "Error in writing video MXF" (error-16) help

Prior versions of DCP-o-matic offered an estimate - however, it was a very rough estimate, based only on the J2K datarate setting (e.g. 150MBit/s) and run time. As the effective data rate is always content dependent, it was never accurate, only a 'worst case' estimate. I can't say much more than ful...

Re: "Error in writing video MXF" (error-16) help

Strange - just for a quick test, try to set 'Reels' to 'Custom' and '2GB' under 'DCP', then try once more. If it runs through, there is something strange about the disc formatting. If it hangs again, I would say the disc or interface is having trouble. Which DCP-o-matic version are you using? - Cars...

Re: Inserting accessibility content to a DCP

Hi Christian, nice video. A bit longish, but on the other hand, it's nice to see how you start with the basic elements, and then end in an actual auditorium with all the content on screen and personal devices. I also liked the way you referenced the ISDCF audio mapping document. I feel you rushed a ...

Re: "Error in writing video MXF" (error-16) help

Are you able to reformat that drive (again to NTFS)?

Usually that error points to either storage/file size restrictions, or a faulty drive/interface.
