Re: How to load a DKDM

It's been a long time. Probably on the mailing list, but maybe on Mantis.

Re: 2.0 (3840x1920) Aspect Ratio DCP

Of course it also heavily depends on wether you consider seeing this on a masked/constant height screen vs. on an unmasked multiplex screen. All scope formats will typically be displayed much 'smaller' on typical unmasked multiplex screens. And a pillarboxed 2:1 feature in scope will then be shown w...

Re: How to load a DKDM

I think I remember a discussion about this a long time ago with Carl. I think at that time (that was even before the standalone player existed) we thought that it would be more useful if users would have to do DKDM/KDM generation and assignment manually. Simply because that way they learn the proces...

Re: 2.0 (3840x1920) Aspect Ratio DCP

Not a good idea for 2.0:1 content. There is an explicit recommendation by ISDCF to use flat for content up to 2.3:1 --- ISDCF recommended practice that for aspect ratios under 1.85 (such as academy aperture 1.33) pillar box in a flat package. For aspect ratio from 1.85 to 2.30 letter box in a flat p...

Re: 2.0 (3840x1920) Aspect Ratio DCP

It's okay like that. What you see within the red lines is your content. You can not crop away these remaining black bars, they are defined by the container choice (flat, which is correct in this case). This is the way commercial 2.0:1 DCPs are mastered as well. You may also create a 4k DCP (adjust f...

Re: 2.0 (3840x1920) Aspect Ratio DCP

Can you activate the checkbox 'outline content' below the preview and repost a screenshot? From what I see, you should crop symmetrically top and bottom until left and right hit the frame borders. Also, on the left under Scale To: set it to 'no stretch'. You could have used the 3840/1920 master dire...

Re: Simple DCP Automation

There are CLI interfaces for the necessary functions. Most operating systems offer droplet or watchfolder options. This manual is probably not up-to-date, but you can always come back here or ask Carl directly for more help. https://dcpomatic.com/manual/html/ch15.html For re-occuring jobs, you may a...

Re: GPU based DCP encoding

Then you need to buy an AMD system. Or two and network them. We thought about RPI clusters a long time ago. Even with the latest RPi4 though, it will not work out, since the more nodes you use, the faster your network is saturated. It is important to begin with the fastest possible single or dual CP...

Re: How to load a DKDM

Can you open that OV in DCP-o-matic main? Right-Click on it, and assign DKDM. Then create your VF from it.

Re: How to load a DKDM

So, you DO see that DKMD listed in KDM Creator between 'DKDM' and the Add/Add Folder buttons? In that case, you first need to create a target cinema and screen in order to issue KDMs for this projector. You need to ask for the serial number or decryption certificate for all projectors (aka 'Servers'...
