Re: 4K UHD Blu-ray to DCP for playback on 2K commercial projector?

I'd be interested in doing some tests, as we do have a high contrast projector, but, I would first need to get an UHD capable disc reader.

Re: Subtitles out of sync

Create a new project and load JUST the subtile MXF file from your SMPTE DCP into it. If you select this file in content list and click on 'View' in the lower left, it will open a list view of your subtitles with the timing. You can compare these timings with the original SRT file. If you create a VF...

Re: Subtitles out of sync

If it was an issue with the frame rates, it should show up equally for burn-in and timed text? Ist this a SMPTE or IOP DCP/VF? If you create the DCP as an Interop DCP (even if only for a test), you can directly compare the in/out times from the SRT file with the resulting subtitle XML file. They sho...

But if I choose to make a VF-version instead the subtitle has a delay on nearly one second. Does anyone know why?

Where does that delay show up? On a cinema projection system?

Re: 4K UHD Blu-ray to DCP for playback on 2K commercial projector?

It would be interesting to compare a standard BD with an UHD conversion of the same title. I am not exactly sure if all UHD are color coded the same. I would assume that the conversion from BT.2020 incl. dynamic metadata to EDR is the weakest point currently. Digital Cinema is not SDR, but 'EDR' ;-)...

Re: Preview window edges (2.14.47 Windows)

2.14.48 is available since the end of march: https://dcpomatic.com/download

What happens if you change the window size on your system - do these lines always appear, or do they go away at certain sizes? That could maybe help explaining why the occur.

Re: Preview window edges (2.14.47 Windows)

I don't think I still have 2.14.47, I just updated to 2.14.48 I don't see any of these lines on my Mac with the standard fullscreen layout, but when I move the lower right corner and rescale main window, I see a black line on the right side at certain window sizes. But most of the time, and especial...

Re: Preview window edges (2.14.47 Windows)

Is this on a high-res display? I hardly ever work on highres displays, so on my notebook, preview is always downscaled. Thus I regularly experience some scaling/aliasing/rounding issues when cropping. Also, as far as I understand, cropping takes place at the source resolution. So, there may be value...

Re: DCP AUDIO LEVEL

You have a choice of exporting stereo/downmix or multichannel. What did you use? You could also just create a new DCP-o-matic project and reimport that ProRes file, then check levels again. Which version of DCP-o-matic did you use? Basically, levels should remain unaltered for export. Just doing a t...
