Re: New verifier issues with IOP
Maybe sometimes it would be good to ask these distributors to what spec, standard or verification tool they listen to.

Re: Suddenly weird errors when verifying DCP with Player
I think I have seen it before with much older builds. Probably when using different versions for creation and verification, if I remember correctly. I do admit, it could be just a hint or warning in general, but, from the point of strict validation, it would indeed be an error. Even if it would never...

Re: Suddenly weird errors when verifying DCP with Player
Ooops, I mistook that as the FFEC/FFMC marker requirement for FTR vs. other content types. Still, 'error' or 'warning'?
What is this 'XML malformed' thing? Is it because the XML file does not comply with an XSD, or is it due to some 'low level' character issues, like LF/CR, indentation, etc.?

Re: Suddenly weird errors when verifying DCP with Player
Yeah, the malformed XML thingy pops up occasionally. Maybe Carl can tell us what it actually complains about. From other threads, I thought it was a bug that should have been ironed out already, but don't know about that between test and release versions. As far as I understood so far, you can ignor...

Re: Anyway to select SMPTE A to avoid metadata issues?
I don't think it's a good idea to enable all sorts of non-standard options in the GUI. I understand why some people may want that functionality, but we risk that this is getting out of control. We will see hints to enable SMPTE 2.0 in order to pass EasyDCP checks, then later we will probably notice ...

Sigh. I thought we were safe with RDD52.

You could try some motion interpolation or blurr software. However, that is not possible within DCP-o-matic.

Re: Anyway to select SMPTE A to avoid metadata issues?
I can't believe that creating Bv2.0 solves any issue with Deluxe or any other commercial mastering service. That may have been a useful option 3-4 years ago, but Bv2.1/RDD52 is the only way to go now. Wondering - do we issue hints for any of those 'strange' advanced settings when used? I think we sh...

Re: Playback Freezing, Renders a Blank Screen
Maybe something weird in the master file. Since already preview crashes. However, 4k needs a fast system. What type of computer is this?

Re: Is it better to have separate audio?
In general, you should not have sync issues, no matter wether you use interleaved or separate audio. However, it is usually safer to use video+audio interleaved, simply because 'less things can go wrong' when creating/maintaining the sync reference while exporting. I understand that often separate a...
