Re: DCP darker than source file
I think the safest way is to create the DCP in DCP-o-matic from the original rec.709 masters. DCP-o-matic will do anything necessary if you don't mess with the default settings. Limited range is the right option for rec.709 material. What is the frame rate of your source material? Are you creating t...

Re: DCP sound sync issues
Can you tell us more about your workflow?
Keep in mind that sync needs to be adjusted in the cinema processor, and while it SHOULD be okay, it may be that it is off. In large auditoriums, it is also debatable to which row/distance the sync should be referenced to.

Re: P3 DCI luminance shift/tint
The player can not simulate a perfect DCI system's color reproduction. Also, you may know that there is no perfect neutral grey. That's fiction. You always notice slight color shifts when doing a side-by-side comparison. In a cinema, there is no technical option for a color shift comparison. You ass...

Re: Can`t get DCPs to work with IMS1000
That's really weird. Can you try to find the software version running on that projector/IMS? Do you always ingest directly on the IMS e.g. through USB, or are they using a TMS/central ingest system? Because these systems may be able to impose all sorts of restrictions that are not strictly set by DC...

A link/shortcut can easily be opened in text editor and be inspected visually.

Re: Can`t get DCPs to work with IMS1000
Are you sure you only put the files on the USB drive that you showed in your screen shot? Which country is this projector living in? Can you upload the metadata.xml of your project here so we can have a look? Which operating system do you use? Your screenshot suggests Windows. For now, I would first...

Re: Can`t get DCPs to work with IMS1000
There doesn't seem to be any obvious issues with your files. Are you sure your transfer method is safe, means, are you sure the data isn't corrupted? You may use DCPomatic player, load the DCP off your stick or disc into player, and perform a DCP verification under 'Tools'. Which version of DCP-o-ma...

Re: Downscaling a 4k DCP - is it a good idea
4k DCPs are played in 2k theatres all the time. Even top selling blockbusters don't get dual 4k and 2k DCPs. DCI/DCP has been designed that way. In 2k theatres, only the 2k resolution layer is played, and the 4k layer is ignored. Also, the data rate for 2k and 4k is essentially the same. I see no di...

I would at least try +3 and +6 dB for surrounds.

Re: Issue Creating DCP
It's true that in the case of the full length feature, no valid DCP has been created (the DCP folder ist missing). Are you sure there is enough free space on your disc for a full length DCP? And as Carl writes, please upload your LOG file, that will probably tell us why the DCP creation failed or st...
