Re: 'video' folder - can it be deleted?
@Carsten Many thanks for taking the time to respond. My experience of what actually happens is somewhat at odds with the way you describe that it should work. Windows may support file linking under NTFS, but it is making two copies of the data in my case (for whatever reason). On a recent copy from ...

Re: 'video' folder - can it be deleted?
@Carsten Many thanks for the response. In Windows, the video seems to be stored twice - once in the 'video' folder and once in the DCP itself. When I delete the 'video' folder, after emptying the recycle bin, I have whatever the size of the video folder plus contents returned to me as available disk...

'video' folder - can it be deleted?
When generating a DCP, DOM creates a directory/folder above the DCP folder itself in the file system hierarchy where it creates a number of files and sub folders (on the same folder level as the DCP itself). These include: analysis [folder] info [folder] video [folder] COVER SHEET.txt ffprobe.log lo...

Re: 'Importing' list of cinemas from one computer to another
@Carsten. Thank you for the help on this. My config.xml file in the 2.16 directory has a link to where the shared config.xml file is located. But the KDM Creator does not seem to pick up the DKDMs in that config.xml file? The two machines have different User IDs for the Windows login to access DoM. ...

Re: 'Importing' list of cinemas from one computer to another
There are definitely <DKDM> tags in the synchronised config.xml file.

Re: 'Importing' list of cinemas from one computer to another
I've used a synchronising service (Sync, not Dropbox - both work by synchronising to a local folder) to enable automatic update. I've got the cinemas.xml file to come up in KDM Creator. All okay in that regard. I'm now struggling to get DoM on the back up machine to be a clone of the original machin...

Re: 'Importing' list of cinemas from one computer to another
Many thanks, I'll try this. Using the prefs to change the location is a good idea and I'll do that, too.

'Importing' list of cinemas from one computer to another
My understanding is that the list of cinema certificates is stored in the cinemas.xml file, found in the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\dcpomatic2 sub folder on Windows 11. I want to use the cinemas.xml and config.xml file from another computer so that I have a backup machine for KDM generation, if n...

Creating KDMs for DCP not made with DoM
I have an old film for which I have an encrypted DCP made by someone else using different software (not DoM). 1. Can I use the DoM suite to manage KDM creation etc for this DCP - obviously as long as I have a DKDM for it? 2. Is there any way of 'importing' the DCP and thereafter having full control?...

Re: DoM 2.12.4 - Not responding when opening DCP without original source files
Fwiw: I'm getting the behaviour I described for 2.12.14 with 2.12.16: "Not responding" when trying to open a DCP without the source files being present. If I force stop DoM, and then restart it and change the drive designations and attach up the original source files, the DCP opens without...
