Re: Where are the system fonts? gone?
I can choose the font I want and get it to display as intended while building the package in DCP-o-MATIC, but it simply doesn't get rendered as itself in DCP-o-MATIC player or easyDCP player (instead default font, Arial probably, is used - what's more, it's rendered as black/bold in easyDCP. In shor...

Re: DCP Player - Hardware Specification
Sounds like some kind of bug / inefficiency in the code. It should max CPU out (or close to it). I will try to add some logging to the playback code so we can analyze the timing of the playback internals. I usually test on a i7-7700 which does more-or-less max out playing a 2K DCP (and still drops ...

Re: DCP Player - Hardware Specification
I understand. I'm just surprised that it won't play smoothly even though none of the cores are saturated. 3dtv.com's JPEG2000 decoder runs through 2K DCPs like hot knife through butter so I expected about the same. Not sure if they even use the help of a GPU (GPU usage hovers around 5%).

Re: DCP Player - Hardware Specification
Thank you, Carl, for including the Player to check the playback aspect ;) . However, I find the performance weirdly lacking on a Ryzen 7 and AMD RX580, a 2K DCP can only be played smoothly, (no dropped frames) @ quarter resolution, while CPU usage @ full resolution is kept under 100% at all times. I...

Re: Colours coming out different/blacks crushed
@alor: I am pretty confident that EasyDCP Player Demo (as I already suggested) will present your DCP correctly i.e. how it will be interpreted by a cinema DCI setup...also MPC-HC player with built-in LAV filters should give the same result as EasyDCP Player, except you probably will not be able to p...

Re: Colours coming out different/blacks crushed
OK, have you actually built the DCP and play it in a proper player (say EasyDCP demo version - make a 15 second test), the preview in DCP-o-MATIC is always presented more crushed than in the final build, and even DCP playback in Stereoscopic player, from my experience. There may be a slight differen...

Re: Colours coming out different/blacks crushed
In export settings of your editing or conversion software...actually you may have recorded the video as superwhite (better cameras can do that), and all subsequent steps my be retaining that setting..what camera is it? what software do you use? You could share a few seconds of problem video on PM vi...

Re: Colours coming out different/blacks crushed
You should check whether you exported studio (limited) range or full range video (superwhite, superblack)...it really should be limited range...if you export to, say, TIFF, is it correct?

Re: 4K codec for Windows Resolve output
For reasonably sized files, Cineform YUV 10-bit works as well as GV HQX (which compresess pretty fast)...also LZW TIFF sequence of any bitdepth works...

Re: GPU based DCP encoding
I have no special knowledge as to how DPX is different to other picture formats and why decoding it takes all threads to the max...someone should ask ffmeg developers, I guess Further testing, including moving source files to RAMDISK, doesn't do anything for performance(!) nor does skipping colorspa...
