Re: DCP Conversion of UHD Blu-Ray files resulting in Colour being off

This was actually very helpful. The default settings for the CST in Resolve with Adaptation set to 9.0 as default actually worked pretty perfectly (at least in the case of this film - I may have to mess with some settings for other files) Oh, nice. It would be interesting to check if the result is ...

Re: DCP Conversion of UHD Blu-Ray files resulting in Colour being off

Hi, As I understand, the main problem here is that DCP-o-matic is using Rec. 2020 primaries with a 2.4 input gamma whereas it should apply a PQ (ST 2084) transfer function instead. If Carl adds it to the transfer functions list, I guess it would help a lot? Then there is still the tone mapping quest...

Re: Subtitle positioning: help required!

Hi, It seems there is another little rendering shift when a line with a high letter (like "f") is under a line with a low letter (like "j") - in this case the line spacing is greater than expected. domsub.JPG The shift is visible on the preview and on the burnt-in subtitles. I us...

Re: Subtitle positioning: help required!

Hi, I don't know if it was supposed to be fixed in 2.16.46 but the slight shift in DOM preview/burning-in is still here in 2.16.47. I didn't notice any other problem using SMPTE or IOP .xml files as input. Horizontal alignment in SDH (subtitles for the deaf or hard-of-hearing) seems accurate too. I ...

Re: Warning from EasyDCP: "MCASubDescriptors"

How about a drop-down list in the settings where one could choose the SMPTE "flavor"? The "A" flavor could be the default and the user could switch to Bv2.1.

carl wrote: Mon Feb 20, 2023 10:47 pm Thank you very much! I'll investigate that small error. Is it possible to export a full-size single frame image showing the original subtitle in EasyDCP player?

Re: 25 fps interlaced to 50p

Hello
I think you would have to make a 50p file with another tool first, like QTGMC (best quality) or ffmpeg with yadif=1.
Keep in mind that on non-HFR projectors, only one out of two frames will be showed.

Best,
Dan

Re: Subtitle positioning: help required!

Hi, I made a quick test following Carsten and Harold suggestions (didn't find the SMPTE test though) : I created a standard SMPTE xml subtitle (attached) with Arial, black border, 42pt, 7% height from bottom. I burned that file into a 2K Flat grid (attached) using easyDCP. That gives me a DCP with t...

Re: Time Zone in "IssueDate" - SMPTE ?

Hi Carl, thanks for your reply and the "fix"!
I checked some recent DCPs we received from big facilities and all have that time zone suffix... I wonder why Deluxe demands this.
