Re: Remote Ingest to Christie IMB

'streamlined'. There are various methods to send files to devices at the cinema. However, you need to talk to their techs/IT department to find out which methods are available/allowed. e.g. some people use cloud based storage like dropbox, google drive, etc. to transfer DCPs into the cinema automati...

Re: Remote Ingest to Christie IMB

The Christie IMS uses an external NAS for DCP storage and ingest, it has common features such as FTP. Don't know how streamlined you want this to be.

Re: Video Playback Laggy

Is your source is stereo, how should the DCP become 5.1? You may play a bit with the Upmixers under DCP->Audio, though. As far as I remember, you have an actual cinema to test the results? Because sometimes, these experimental Upmixers create strange results. If you use a recent DCP-o-matic version,...

Re: Video Playback Laggy

The Mac has some special issues with playback currently. For a long time, DCP-o-matic used a very conservative default data rate setting of 100MBit/s. Probably because initially, DCP-o-matic was DVD-o-matic and targeted DVD conversions, where 100MBit/s was more than enough. Recently, the default dat...

Re: Video Playback Laggy

I don't think so. That DCP is pretty small for it's run time. Did you use the default data rate of 100MBit/s.? Check the playback resolution in player, and set it to quarter resolution. Are you doing this on a Mac?

Re: DCP-o-matic Player verification error

Which version of the player did you use? I know that some create 5.1 DCPs even if only the first two channels are occupied with a stereo signal to avoid any confusion. I have no idea why they complain about a 6.1 DCP. 6.1 IS technically possible and allowed (the Soundfield was called Dolby Digital E...

Re: Multiple Audio Options?

Other editors support MXF audio import as well, but, because it offers a straighter access, I prefer the free Audacity with the FFMPEG plugin (separate install). With it, you can open the MXF audio file that DCP-o-matic creates. This is the actual audio that is played in the cinema, so, if in doubt ...

Re: Multiple Audio Options?

L-C-R-Ls-Rs-LFE is the old channel sequence for film workflows (35mm). Some editing systems still offer this export order under the name 'film', so, some may use it for cinema. Or maybe what you got is a file from an older 35mm workflow. From what I see in your mapping, that should be okay. I think ...

Re: KDM validity period starts before or close to the start of the signing certificate validity period

So, it seems there is a bug in 2.15.47 that hits under certain conditions. Carl will probably have a fix ready in no time. Until then, you should probably use 2.14.31 to create the DKDM. Everything else should be fine.

Re: KDM validity period starts before or close to the start of the signing certificate validity period

Okay, that signing cert is valid from dec 2019 through december 2059 and should not cause any trouble. So, there obviously seems to be a bug in 2.15.x. Let me see... I guess I see what the problem is. With KDMs, you can select the validity window yourself. As DKDMs have to follow the same formal def...
