Re: Forensic Marking - KDM

That's a bit of a secret. The watermarks are repeated all over the run length of the DCP. As far as I know, these methods have been licensed from some companies like Thomson or Philips. These companies supply tools that can be used to analyse a video recording of the content. Usually these tools are...

Re: Encoding server using too many threads

Do you have only the encoding server installed in this old Mac Pro (as all modules are separate installs on the Mac)? If so, install DCP-o-matic main, and then start it up and go to preferences. You can set the amount of threads to use there. Maybe you had it set it there once and forgot about it. A...

Re: Forensic Marking - KDM

When forensic marking is active - and it is the norm for encrypted content - then the DCI playout server adds invisible and inaudible watermarks to the content while it is being played out in the cinema. These watermarks contain the serial number of the server used for the playout, as well as date a...

Re: Is the mid-side decoder feature in DoM a unique function?

I think it's working nice enough in it's current version, but guess it needs a tweak. I can't remember wether I filed a bug on Mantis. I think Mid-Side decoders use a very basic processing that works for most typical material - they are intended to direkt voice/dialog to the center speaker, and in t...

Re: DCP Job Fails Without Error Message

Never use special chars in DCP titles and transport folders/media path names. DCP-o-matic should catch it normally, but still, don't push it.

Re: EasyDCP verification

Shouldn't RDD52 compliance be all that's needed currently? People probably need to accept that EasyDCP may have flaws as well, and that there are other validators out there.

Why would EasyDCP verification be that important?

Re: Wav masters vs. DCP MXF Volume Discrepency

Unless you do a 1:1 pass through in DCP-o-matic (as opposed to using the different ways of gain adjustments or up-mixers), there shouldn't be the slightest variation between uncompressed LPCM and DCP MXF. I'm wondering wether some of the algorithms used for sample rate conversion or 16->24Bit interp...

Re: There are many cert. dolby. Which one should we use as the main one?

Usually you would take the pem files with sha256 in their name. I believe Dolby changed the name from sha256 to SMPTE now for the IMS3000. So I guess the cert you should use for KDM generation is the 371716-SMPTE.pem file. The chain files can be used, but are not necessary. Other names have been use...

Re: Outline content not fitting the frame

Hmm, works for me in 2.16.75. Maybe there is something special with your source, it seems to be a 4:4:4:4 codec, they sometimes cause strange issues. Works for me also no matter wether I set it to 2k vs. 4k. What's your display resolution? You are obviously working on a Mac - is this an M1/M2/M3 mac...
