Re: ISDCF naming for MOS
Okay, so it's time to use Mantis myself. Still, I think I'd rather have a discussion about pros and cons before it's listed as a feature request at this forum.

Re: ISDCF naming for MOS
Let's see when it will become true...
By the way: in case there are several main languages, how to proceed then? I've seen something like: _FR-DE-LAS-en_ for three dialog languages and English subs. Am I right that the length of the name string might result in a a cut off on the display?

Re: ISDCF naming for MOS
Carsten, once again thanks a lot for your input - and sorry for my late reply. I agree with MOS as important and just for my own routine, I used MOS-en. Just to make sure, it's not a version with German intertitles or translated subs. Also MOS is unusual in most feature films, I have a lot of them i...

Re: ISDCF naming for MOS
Checking a DCP from an archive, I found this way of naming: Title_SHR-1-25_F_XX-XX_MOS_2K_x_... This DCP was created with the easyDCP-plugin for Resolve. I don't know, if they have a proper naming for silent movies. Maybe someone here has some more experience? Or is involved in the archive naming ro...

ISDCF naming for MOS
Hi folks and friends, I'm creating a DCP for a silent movie at the moment and I wonder what the best way would be. It's a real silent movie with intertitels in English but without any honky tonk piano. I'd go with Title_SHR-1-25_F_MOS-en_20_2K... in first place or Title_SHR-1-25_F_XX-XX_20_2K... Bot...

Re: stereo to 5.1 using mid-side decoder
Hi Miranda, having the audio on the center speaker only is fine: the audio will come directly from the screen (as in most cinemas the center box is placed behind the screen). Having the audio on the left and right speakers only might be even more problematic if the first row is close to a wide scree...

Re: stereo to 5.1 using mid-side decoder
Hi Miranda, Having audio on the center only means it's a mono file. And by that, it's usually fine. I thought you used the mid-side decoder not the stereo to 5.1 upmixer? Nevertheless, as far as I know both surround upmixers needs a careful check at the end. Never trust those automatisms too much. H...

Re: stereo to 5.1 using mid-side decoder
Hi Miranda, From your description, it seems quite allright to me to have this kind of result. First of all, the source is 2 channel audio from tape - but not necessarily stereo but two times mono. Have a look at the waveform monitor or the peak level (of the daw software of your choice or in the tim...

Re: How to view my DCP on a MAC?
Did you try to get FUSE for macOS? You might also either copy the DCP on another drive, install DoM on the linux system or in case you have another computer / NAS running a linux system, it works almost okay via network - depending on your network and the tolerance on dropped frames (downsized windo...

Aspect ratio on Full Container not labled as C
Hi Carl, I just noticed by chance that when choosing the 1.90:1 Full Container, the ISDCF name gets _F-full-frame_ and not _C_ as it is recommended by the ISDCF (http://isdcf.com/dcnc/home/appendix-7-projector-aspect-ratio.html) But I might be wrong. I'm still (test) version 2.11.27. Best wishes Phi...
