Yes, that works. DCP-o-matic will burn in the same subtitle into both left and right images at the same position. When playing in 3D, the subtitles will appear in the screen plane.

Don't start with all possible content tabs visible.
Why not? That way, especially new users can see what is possible and supported? Same could be visible (greyed out again) when no content is selected?

Re: HDMI Multichannel Playback
Looks as if you are right - I see downmixing only in both DCP-o-matic main and player. Will do some more tests with recent versions.

Re: subtitle issue with DOM
I think that is a known little quirk Carl was going to fix - these subtitles are embedded in an MKV file as bitmap subtitles - probably from a DVD or Bluray. You also need to check 'Burn subtitles into image', as bitmap subtitles currently can only be burned-in. Carl was thinking to automatically ch...

Can you show us some screenshots? Where do you experience the missing subtitles - in the DCP-o-matic player, in the cinema...?

Re: 6 mono tracks for 5.1
You can also right-click on the first (lilac) audio track (the one immediately below the video track) and choose 'remove'. That will set it silent in the audio matrix and it will vanish from the timeline view. You can then set the audio parameters for the individual mono tracks. In general, working ...

Re: DCP from DPX sequence and separate sound elements
While Carl was able to fix this - it is really not a good idea to have numbered image sequences with so many ambiguous numbers in the filename. Restrict it to only the image sequence number. There are tools for automatic renaming for every operating system.

Re: No Italic on the screen (Interop VF)
Which DCP-o-matic version have you used for this? I remember there was recently something on Mantis with multiple font tags, have to look it up. https://dcpomatic.com/mantis/view.php?id=1273 And as it turns out, you don't do italics in subtitles by using a second dedicated italic font - you just dec...

Re: HDMI Multichannel Playback
I have done it successfully with DCP-o-matic main app, but didn't try the recent player versions. I noticed that sometimes it is complicated to force an HDMI connection into 5.1 or 7.1 mode. When I connect a 7.1 HDMI audio interface to a computer, very often it is only seen as a 2ch interface. When ...

Re: 1.78 in Version 2.12.6
Well, not the best solution to that problem. Keep in mind, these DCPs can cause issues on real servers. No trouble if you create them for your own, but I would not let a 16:9 container into the wild. That said, 16:9 containers are probably a bit less risky, since a lot of ads used to be converted in...
