This one is as well at half decode resolution windowed, but the window set to approximately half the screen width, the image area takes about a quarter of the screen, roughly 720/400

Re: Help with current MacBook Pro

Playing a commercial 2k 'Scope in Flat' Trailer in all three decoding resolutions, bot windowed (player default) and fullscreen on my 2.3GHz i7-4coreHT MacBookPro with a 1440/900 display. In both display modes, playback of this trailer is possible with zero dropped frames in quarter and halfdecode r...

Re: More than 48 fps playback

Was that a Barco projector?

I know from personal experience that a Doremi IMB/ShowVaul can play 60fps 2D without problems. But the projector needs to follow as well. What are your issues? Are you trying to play back a 3D DCP with more than 48fps? You need a special IMB Firmware for that.

Re: DCP with 7.1

What is the frame rate?

If 24 or 25, then Interop is okay. Depends a bit on the server they use. Best is to inquire.

Re: Help with current MacBook Pro

Not all cores being used may first hint to the decoder working inefficient - as a matter of fact, on my older 4coreHT notebook, all 8 logical cores ARE working full thrust at half resolution decode. At quarter frame resolution, only 4 cores are used, so the J2K decoding is fast enough even with the ...

Re: Help with current MacBook Pro

The player has seen quite a bit of improvement in 2.13.x. Still, there are bottlenecks, but it seems, on current fast CPUs, that is no longer just the J2K decoding, but other issues. Carl thinks about using OpenGL for display, but maybe there are other, simpler workarounds for now. It would at least...

Re: DCP with 7.1

The player lacks performance in j2k decoding, you can lower decode resolution and get smoother playback. In most cases, DCP-o-matic will downmix to stereo, but can also output multichannel, but you may need to choose and config audio devices on your PC, it's probably a bit trial and error to get 5.1...

Re: KDMs not recognized on some DCP2000 ?

The fix to exclude dangerous characters from KDMs is now in 2.13.133. For previous versions - just try to avoid them ;-) Funny there was a similar issue yesterday on the german projectionists forum (though not strictly DCP-o-matic related): On a Sony Server, DCPs contained in folders containing non-...

Re: DCP with 7.1

If the audio is coming from a separate process, and you are doing the final conversion yourself, there is probably no reason to reunite video and audio. Except you want to have another more common master format (like DNxHD with audio). It's no problem to space audio and video to separate the episode...
