Re: 23,98 footage - Do I have a problem?
Hi.
Doing some calculations reveals that Flat container is the best choice.
Look for yourself: 2:1 AR will be 1716x858 in Scope and 1998x999 in Flat. So Flat will have slightly higher resolution.

Re: Bitmap subs with different positions
Carsten, I guess the only way to fix such a problem would be OCR the subtitles with some subtitle editing software (SubtitleEdit is very good) and then make XML subtitles for DCP (SubtitleEdit can make XML subtitles).

Re: CHANGING KDM TIME FORMAT
The security managers in servers and media blocks use 24hr format (UTC + time zone correction). So actually the KDMs will always contain only 24hr format time regardless of the format selected in the preferences of KDM generation software.

Re: CHANGING KDM TIME FORMAT
Oh, right! That would be a very user friendly option. I guess it would be better to include it to Preferences (Time format: 12hr/24hr) and use it in every place where local times are displayed.

Hi, Ikram.
In case you have reinstalled DCP-o-matic, replace cinemas.xml and preferences.xml with your backed up ones. I do this myself if I have to and everything's fine.

Re: Stereo Mix
If you can test the cinema setup for 2ch sound and it's okay then choose 2ch, it will take less space. But for compatibility issues I'd prefer to choose 5.1 and map the source channels to L and R only.

Re: DCP Container for 16mm film transfer - original ratio 4:3
Hi! Use Flat as the most suitable standard format. If you are worried about the projectionist setting up the presentation correctly then it doesn't matter what format to use. Projectors always show the full container - 2048x1080. That's the signal they receive from the server and the server always a...
