My version of VLC is also 2.2.4 Weatherwax, but for Windows.
All the controls should still be there in the Mac-version, even though the ways to reach them may differ.

Try "Command I" and then select the Codec Details tab.

Re: DCP verification player
Yes, I agree. It's strange that the subtitle is reported as 0kB in size. Something wrong with the .srt-file perhaps? Check for minor syntax errors in the srt-file. For example, decimal points instead of commas in the timings can throw some software completely off track, while other software will hap...

Re: DCP verification player
When video is playing: In "Tools / Codec Information" - do you see a subtitle stream in the list of streams? If the subtitle stream is NOT visible there, then something has gone wrong in the encoding. We'll have to go back to the settings in ffmpeg. If the subtitle stream IS visible there,...

Re: DCP verification player
Which player software do you use? Some players don't support soft embedded subtitles in .mp4 or .mov files. Even if your player does support subtitles, you may have to switch them on explicitly. - Take a look in your player's settings and see if there's an option to switch on subtitles, and also to ...

Re: DCP verification player
I don't think ffmpeg supports reading DCP-subtitles from an mxf-file. Supported file-formats are listed here: https://ffmpeg.org/general.html#Subtitle-Formats What you could do is tell ffmpeg to obtain the subtitles from your original subtitle script, for example a .srt-file: -i some_subs.srt And th...

Re: Subtitles getting mixed up
New test with the same subtitle file as before and DOM 2.9.21. Just one single subtitle: 1 00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:09,000 Testing is <i>really</i> fun! This is the <i>second</i> line! This time I created the DCP with soft subtitles ("Burn subtitles..." un checked). Here's the result, as ren...

Re: DCP verification player
HandBrake is indeed a very nice program which I use a lot. It won't convert from DCP, though. Why don't you simply use ffmpeg to convert your DCPs to mp4's ? I do that all the time. Some hints here: https://olitee.com/2014/02/ffmpeg-convert-dcp-quicktime/ One small error in some of the examples, tho...

Re: DCP verification player
Cantar4, have you considered using multiple computers for the encoding process? If you're a collective, ask your members to bring their own computers, and you can set up an encoding LAN party. Everybody will connect to the network, start up their DCP-o-matic encode servers, and away you go. Your pro...

Re: Subtitles getting mixed up
Yes, it works fine in 2.9.20 !
Once again, thank you Carl! You've done some real wizardry for subtitles over the last few weeks.

Server live images
Do the Server Live Images really work? Is anyone having any luck with them? I've tried the 2.9.0 live images on three different computers, both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version. None of them seems to work. Error message: /usr/bin/dcpomatic2_server_cli: error while loading shared libraries: libnettl...
