Unencrypted - yes. Encrypted - no.

Re: Subtitles for Encrypted dcps

No, DCP encryption has not been cracked, and there is no way to use encrypted assets in a subtitled VF if you don't get an OV DKDM targeted towards your DCP-o-matic installation.

Re: Subtitles for Encrypted dcps

Simply said - if the OV is encrypted, it is not possible without a DKDM.
Unless you use completely different methods for subtitling (e.g. personal smartphone). These would be solutions highly dependent on local options, e.g. festivals, etc.

Re: dcpomatic2_kdm_cli Query

I think consideration of daylight saving when creating a KDM is simply bad habit. KDMs should never be issued precisely down to the hour. Instead, the time zone shift is more relevant, as it can be up to 12 hrs. And having to enter it every time KDMs are issued is more prone to errors. The KDMs we r...

Re: dcpomatic2_kdm_cli Query

In the current test version the timezone is no longer a property of the cinema, so you can already specify it on the command line as part of the start/end times. I think it's better to leave the time zone in the database and just offer to override it (or choose daylight saving) in the KDM creation ...

Re: Mid-side encoder

Looks as if it's just a bug in audio analysis. While in 2.16.75 the center is not displayed in the audio graph - the center signal is still there in the MXF created during encoding. So, you should be safe. As a test, after having created the DCP, just create a new project, and add the pcm MXF track ...

Re: Mid-side encoder

I'll try now with 2.16.75. Can you remember the earlier version you tried where it didn't work as expected?

Audio analysis in the source tab will never show the results of the Mid-Side-Decoder, as the Decoder only works on the output and thus results only show under the DCP tab.

Re: Mid-side encoder

Are you sure you called the audio analysis from the 'DCP->Audio tab, not from the content/source tab in both cases?

Re: Audio Levels question from a newbie

When you select the audio tab, there is an overall gain setting option. Enter -3.5 there, check the audio analysis again, and it should just NOT peak anymore. It will probably still show red - but that's okay, as long as it is below zero. If you already created the DCP - do it nonetheless within the...

Re: Audio Levels question from a newbie

How did you manage to get these high peaks above 0dB?

You should reduce gain for both channels by (-)3.5 dB. That will still leave you a decent overall loudness.
