Re: Number of threads DoM can use
I have tried like 60 or 80 on systems with actual 24, and there wasn't a real issue yet. Keep in mind, however, that every thread consumes it's own share of memory - and if that brings your system into swapping, it more or less comes to a halt encoding wise. That becomes more critical if you work in...

Re: Number of threads DoM can use
To the number of logical cores, which is twice the number of physical cores for HT machines. In your case, 24. DCP-o-matic will also set this as default setting (it will detect the available number of logical cores and set accordingly). Normally, there is no need to change this from the default valu...

Re: CPL Editor - Entry Point - Duration
Well, of course it is only possible if you recalculate hashes and signature. The player doesn't ingest features as DCI servers do, thereby also checking the DCP integrity. The player will probably only detect these violations with it's Verify option. Modifying the DCP in DCP-o-matic will take care o...

Re: Could not create VF from an encrypted OV
I guess you should be able to find a suitable arabic font on the system you are working on. Just fire-up a word processor and look at the standard font you use in your native language. Of course, fonts are not always free from copyrights, but there are certainly usable arabic fonts in the public dom...

Re: Could not create VF from an encrypted OV
You need to supply and choose a font file in DOM that has the necessary glyphs for arabic. You may need to test a suitable font first. DCP-o-matic itself uses a system font renderer for the preview that will almost always have the proper glyphs. If in doubt, burn-in (creates another huge video file)...

Re: CPL Editor - Entry Point - Duration
I am not sure wether it covers all cases, but adding a preexisting DCP and editing In-/Out-Points does exactly that. It will not reencode, but simply copy existing content into the new DCP. If the pre-existing DCP is a DCP-o-matic project, it will usually go within seconds, if not, it will take a fe...

Re: VF to add Subtitles - Query
Hmm. Following the screenshot, you chose to create a VF for xml subtitles, but burn-in the subtitles. Are you sure this is what you wanted to do? Not entirely sure what DCP-o-matic does in this case, if 'use this DCPs video and as OV and create VF' is checked? When burning in, an entirely new video ...

Re: Error: could not read video frame (-101)
Yup. Looks as if the FTP upload or the NAS handling broke the file. Best thing now is of course to request that reel again. Online dedicated/proprietary transfer protocols like FASP offer inband file verify and retransmission. Audio reels should be okay. Maybe this will also help in the future: http...

Re: Error: could not read video frame (-101)
I remember I tried verifying an obviously corrupted DCP (the one that had a Sony server freak out a few months ago). If I remember right, running verification on that one caused the player/verfication to crash with a similar error, however, I remember there were some changes done to verification aft...
