Re: HDR mkv file to the best color space

Tone-mapping is not a transparent, one-solution-fits-all procedure. Especially because the conversion profile is not consistent throughout the video files, but relies on extra metadata. The funny thing is that checking with a player on your computer might be misleading, since many media players nowa...

Re: Validation of DCPs

I, for one, will try from now on. Yet, I am not familiar with the philosophy of filing a bug and the forum user interaction may help if the error lies on use. Like that VF verification that I didn't know that goes O.K. nowadays. So, I suppose efficiency lies in between the use of both. P.S. Yes, tha...

Re: Validation of DCPs

Yes, saving a full report might be helpful. What I am trying to convey, though, is that I miss some original info that was already available in the past version and made work easier. Determining the file that is failing, being able to see how long an encrypted DCP is, by sliding the pointer all the ...

Re: Validation of DCPs

I will pick up this thread, because it has a fitting title and it mentions different verification methods between 2.14 and (nowadays) 2.16. I would like carl, development, to consider having both type of info on failures. What I mean: I had an incoming for a festival, a multi-reel DCP that I firstly...

DCP-o-matic player slider

In the latest DCP-o-matic releases, I found out that (unfortunately) I can't load an encrypted DCP and slide the pointer all the way to the end, to figure out what the total length of a DCP is before I ingest it. Given that it was possible before and that it's not much of a problem to reinstate that...

Re: DCP for Cannes Film Festival

Well, I think it would be both educational and entertaining to pin a subject by the name "how wrong things can go with DCP creating". Yet, since the "DCP-o-matic" board, sub-board of "General" is "Anything and everything to do with DCP-o-matic" maybe that can ...

Re: DCP Remove Encryption

...they don't want to deal with KDMs for being in a remote location, failing internet, lack of resources etc etc. ... All good in the fact that they don't want to deal with KDMs, because it's more complex, but every other excuse is just that. The only reason that would make sense, if I one has to a...

Re: Invalid CPL signature on Barco

Just out of curiosity: Does it make any difference to the CPL signature, whether the DCP is encrypted or not?

Re: easydcp cannot player the encrypt dcp genered by the dom

...if i use the easydcp to dcp with cert of two,... Not quite clear what you write here. You mean that the authoring program of easydcp is validating the KDM made by DCPoMatic and you can manipulate it? If yes, is there a chance that the player and the authoring applications have different certific...
