Re: Subtitles getting mixed up

This is what the .xml-file looks like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <dcst:SubtitleReel xmlns:dcst="http://www.smpte-ra.org/schemas/428-7/2010/DCST" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <dcst:Id>urn:uuid:8cf3bad5-812c-4371-a825-67cf9ba79db6</d...

Subtitles getting mixed up

I made this small subtitle file just for testing. Some words have been marked-up as italics: 1 00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:09,000 Testing is <i>really</i> fun! This is the <i>second</i> line! Importing the .srt-file into DOM produces the expected result: Testing is really fun! This is the second line! Ho...

Strange file names

With the latest test version 2.9.15, the files that make up the DCP all get "%i" in their file names: ASSETMAP.xml cpl_%i_d7c95ad9-a39c-4682-b41d-bd6ef77b0335.xml j2c_%i_1c06930d-10ff-415f-8aa5-1113f38f81bd.mxf pcm_%i_634f6910-6a26-4fb7-b14f-b933da775ec9.mxf pkl_%i_32127427-1712-4fb8-9dea-...

Re: Outline size on subtitle

With the subtitle color problem solved, can we have another go at the issue of outline size, please? Would it be possible to have a setting for outline width? While much better than before, I think that the outlines are a little bit too wide now. But I admit that it's a personal preference. Also, di...

Re: Burn-In Subtitle color

Yes, the subtitle color problem seems to be solved now. A big thank you for that!

Re: Outline size on subtitle

Hmm. That's weird. I guess Carl has to look into this again. One should do some tests with a range of colors. I wouldn't care so much for colors, but clearly greys and white should render neutral on screen. Did you try earlier versions as well? - Carsten The earliest version I've tried at this time...

Re: Outline size on subtitle

But, as a sideway, couldn't you just adjust the color (less green) to get what you want? After all, it's personal choice anyway. Yes, of course, white should be white, grey should be grey, but for now.... That was my thought as well. So I tried adjusting the color for less green, producing a magent...

Re: Outline size on subtitle

Try to create an RGB still with a full white (255,255,255) background for encoding, and burn in some text with 255,255,255, then watch for the text in the MXF/J2C created by DOM. When I do that on my (OS X) machine and open the resulting snapshot in PS, I get the same pixel value for background and...

Re: Outline size on subtitle

My latest tests yesterday were made with version 2.9.12. I think I originally must have tried version 2.9.0, but moved on to test versions. My first example in this thread shows a subtitle before the improvement of outline rendering. It's not so obvious that it's green, since the outline "eats ...

Re: Outline size on subtitle

You definitely need to play these files on a calibrated DCI projector. Don't count on color fidelity with software-only players. - Carsten Done! The subtitles come out just as green on the cinema screen (Barco DP2K-12C projector) as on my PC-screen. I've also had a friend verify my DCP's on a calib...
