Re: Tif issues

I should have known better, but I had an issue with single image both for still and sequence today, which is a rather stupid one, but can still cause confusion for other users: When you use images that have been stored/created/modified on a Mac and then transferred to a Windows machine through FAT, ...

Re: Flickering Images

Wondering if this could be an issue with different versions on the master and the rendering clients? So every other frame or so might have traveled through a slightly different processing pipeline, causing brightness/contrast/color variations? The question is - is it 'flicker', or 'stutter'? - Carsten

Re: Batching Multiple Projects

That's what I mean when I say above that setting up a full functioning batch system could take more time than doing all the files manually ;-)

It's worth the effort when you have to create so many files on a regular basis.

Re: Tif issues

Hmm, that's strange. Which platform and version of DCP-o-matic are you using? From the other thread I guess it is WIN7? Where do these TIFFs come from? Any specific parameters? When you write 'pre-mastered', I assume they are already 1998/1080 RGB or something similar? Carl will comment on this, but...

Re: Tif issues

Reading this, I just tried to load a few CMYK TIFFs in 8 and 16 bit, and it seems DCP-o-matic is misinterpreting the colour. Guess not many people are using CMYK TIFFs as a source for DCPs, but may still be worth looking at. No errors importing them, though.

Re: Batching Multiple Projects

@ phili2p: The Mac version lacks the batch converter utility that comes with the windows (and Linux?) versions. That one can already accomplish what you describe. But I think dfroelicher want's something even more streamlined. He doesn't even want to setup all the individual projects. Depends on how...

Re: Making a 7.1 DCP from a DTS-HD MA source...

Hmm, I never tried, I think I don't have any 7.1 Blurays in my collection.

I just googled 'ffmpeg dts hd 7.1' and it seems as if there is a problem indeed. But there may also be a solution.

Re: 25fps v 24fps

There are a lot of 25fps DCPs distributed nowadays. There are two different issues - one is, that officially, 25fps is only supported in SMPTE packaging, not Interop. Yet there are a lot of servers around that support 25fps in Interop as well. Now, there are some old servers around that do not suppo...

Re: Removing duplicate video file?

A lot of beginners think that the DCP is the whole directory structure that is created by DCP-o-matic. A while ago we facilitated finding the DCP by using the 'Show DCP' DropDown Menu entry. It will open the project folder and highlight the most recent DCP folder. You only need to copy this folder t...

Re: 4k gamut, colour space and general advice

Color space for DCPs is always the same - XYZ. What you need to do in DCP-o-matic is to use/create the proper color transformation from your source footage. If the source footage is prepared by a post house, they will decide with you which format, colorspace and gammut to render the footage in. Prof...
