Re: Problems importing a large J2C sequence

Working with Windows at work, I get a lot of ExFAT drives.
Someone had the great idea to use a couple for a film festival.
Copying a couple of terabytes took almost a day each time.
Bottom line: my bet is on ExFAT, not external vs internal drive.

Re: making a VF for a DCP not authored in DOM

About the reels, last time I checked, DCP-o-matic did split the subtitles into reels automatically. If multi reel, I would do the spotting or re-cutting with an mp4 export and then import the essence to the content as one compatible file. Depending on your subtitling program, you may export directly...

Re: Fixing A/V sync of single reel DCPs with a small VF

In short, no. There is no entry point configuration of audio or video (subtitles don't have that feature by default) with DCP-o-matic. It's something that has been discussed in the past. The reasoning behind having that feature is generally acknowledged, yet, implementing it would ask for great chan...

Re: Stand alone player for windows

I don't know if that helps or perplexes things, but what about the installer with ticking boxes on what to install and what not. Wouldn't that be only one, but helping funkytwig to only install one component? Practically, that is the same as what is already there on the installer, but with more choi...

Re: Burned subs

It's a bit far fetched, according to the description, but I would check any fade-in and fade-out settings.

Re: Subtitle positioning: help required!

For what it's worth, I can second that. After major changes were made on positioning the subtitles, for more fidelity to other subtitles, I am usually lowering in the Y axis 3 notches. YET, I made a VF just yesterday where I used Interop subtitles, not .srt, and I didn't do/fix anything (but add the...

Re: Bitrates

Since this is a discussion where one can hardly get hard facts, I will share my view on it: More and more, and the less one wants to get a headache the more, people make DCPs with "more is better" in mind. I will get the image bitrate to 230Mb/s and what do I have to worry about? Not that ...

Re: Batch DCP Slide Creation

A "like" is in order here, but nowhere to be found, for sharing. I meant to ask, with no intention to suggest you should: Why did you choose to make many slide DCPs instead of fewer, longer ones? Data volume? Inflexibility on frequent changes? Preparing each for different occasions? 2+2 se...

Re: Cinema with 2 projector TDL KDM

It's nice to have the function back live and working, but there is something I don't get. As a workaround, wouldn't it be possible to make two "screens", "Screen 01a" and "Screen 01b" and make KDMs for "both"? And I only mention here a workaround, not because ...

Re: Ingest Errors Detected

The issue with the separated J2C file I don't get. Usually it's no problem to separate a file from a DCP folder and put it back in, as long as the filename (and of course, content) stays the same. I can only assume that something else went wrong. ... That's exactly what went wrong. I don't find tha...
