Re: GPU based DCP encoding
At the moment, the most likely first "version" of GPU encoding will be for nvidia, on Windows/Linux only (not macOS) and not free.

Re: Says that it cannot find the player
Yes, the one in the same folder as the main DCP-o-matic 2.app.
This should work again in 2.15.107.

Re: Says that it cannot find the player
Ah ... that's supposed to workIt will not locate and start the player automatically (I would prefer this functionality, though).

Re: Says that it cannot find the player
It's a bit of a misleading message. Are you using macOS? If so, the player is a separate download from here.

Re: Why do I need use DoM instead Davinci Resolve?
Obviously you should use whatever you want :) I don't pay close attention to Resolve, but here are some features that (as I understand it) you might need to use DCP-o-matic for (correct me if I am wrong...!) subtitles closed captions encryption / KDM creation creation of version files (VFs) 4K multi...

Re: DCP to MP4 extraction
Great. If they are concerned about sending the DKDM, perhaps it might be worth asking them what they are worried about. Feel free to give them my email carl@dcpomatic.com if there's anything I can help to explain (albeit only in English, I'm afraid!)

Re: DCP to MP4 extraction
I'm not quite sure what a "projection-only" KDM would do. The KDM system is designed to prevent pretty much exactly what you are doing - making an unencrypted version of an encrypted DCP. You could put things in DCP-o-matic to prevent certain uses of KDMs, but they would be easy to bypass ...

Re: DCP to MP4 extraction
Hi Marcello,
I'm not quite sure what the distributor means here. It may be that they only want to make KDMs for projection systems, where it's not so easy to decrypt the DCP or make MP4s as it is with DCP-o-matic. Are they happy for you to make MP4s of the DCP in question?
Carl

Re: Unable to trim existing DCP
It's one way to do it; then you would need to send both DCPs to the cinema and ask them to play the small one (which can be confusing). They way you have it now you'll get a standalone DCP. It should be fairly quick as it will re-use the data. One day perhaps DoM will have the feature where it can l...
