Re: DCP with 7.1
You don't need to follow a specific order during import - you can arrange everything later in timeline view and under Timing/Trimming. But, yes, it is a bit fiddly. I usually recommend to add composite video+audio files for that reason. Would be worse if you had split the 7.1 audio into 8 separate c...

Re: KDMs not recognized on some DCP2000 ?
Yes, probably. I have seen something around that happening already last night on the development status bar, so it seems Carl has already taken action.

Re: DCP with 7.1
No problem: Bildschirmfoto 2019-03-22 um 11.17.06.png Projectionist will usually create a playlist where they can line up multiple DCPs for playout. Yes, if you're unlucky, they could mix the order. So, if there is no reason to play any of your episodes out of order intentionally, just make a single...

Help with current MacBook Pro
During a recent workshop, one of the participants was using a 2018 MacBook Pro, 15" Retina (see screenshot). It uses a nice 6coreHT i7-8850H CPU at 2.6GHz base clock. We were very disappointed with DCP-o-matic's player performance, as even at quarter resolution decoding, it skipped very many fr...

Re: KDMs not recognized on some DCP2000 ?
The é is probably the reason, Carl would have to think over this. I remember at some time that he constrained the char set allowed for naming DCP/asset/metadata files, but maybe something slipped through. Renaming file names alone may not solve the issue, as the bad char (or replacement) could be co...

Re: DCP in 16 fps
Yup - 16,18,20 and 22 fps are supported in DCP as of SMPTE ST 428-21:2011 - but they should be regarded as archival frame rates, and you should not expect standard cinema projectors to be able to play them (properly). As far as I know, so far no study has been done on existing equipments capability ...

Re: DCP with 7.1
Yup, Audiomatris is correct like this. JPEG2000 as used in digital cinema has lot's of 'spare room' in the compression rate. There is a technical limit per spec at 250MBit/s, but, some dominant servers may already stutter or stop around that peak data rate. I usually set my installations to 230MBit/...

Re: KDMs not recognized on some DCP2000 ?
I also notice that KDM_DOM_Montargis4 has DOS line-endings (as one would expect if you made it on a Windows system). But AFAICS there's no way that should cause any problem... SHOULD, yes, but after what we experienced recently with the Sony validation... Bildschirmfoto 2019-03-21 um 13.45.04.png

Re: Creating VF for DOM encrypted DCP
I you have created a DKDM for this encrypted DCP, then assign it to the loaded DCP in DCP-o-matic by right-clicking on it. If you saved the DKDM to a file, you can assign it in the file menu after you loaded the encrypted DCP in player. @Carl - is there a way to export a DKDM from the DCP-Creator li...
