25-24 time conversion with discrete audio

Post by binba »

Hi,
I love that you can put a 25fps source file (e.g. MOV) into DCP-o-matic, set the DCP frame rate to 24, and it will take care of the rest.

However, sometimes I get a carefully made pitch-shifted soundtrack to use instead, that is already in the correct pitch and longer duration.

What is the correct way to configure such a project? To ensure that the video is interpreted as 24, but the audio is untouched, while retaining sync.

Thanks!

Is your soundtrack a separate file? If so, you can select it, go into the "Timing" tab and in the "video frame rate" box put 24fps. This tells DoM that the file was prepared to be run at 24fps, so it should not be resampled.
