Slow creation of OV supplementary audio DCP

Post by slonick81 »

Hi!

I've made a full DCP package of feature film in DCP-o-matic. Looks good, plays well, audio and subs are in sync with video.

Now I want to create a supplementary audio track package for this DCP. I created a new porject, imported existing DCP, imported new sound track, set up checkboxes "Use this DCP's ..." for video and subs, checked if audio track is correctly seen by DOM as 5.1, checked settings in DCP tab as well and hit "Make DCP".

It kinda started working - showed up "Transcoding <projectname>" progress bar, and there is growing file "pcm_<something>.mxf" in project folder.
But the process is EXTREMELY slow, it made around 4% through the night. Yes, it's beefy 3 hour 6+ GB 5.1 track but the whole original DCP was made on this exact PC much faster.

Any ideas about what may be wrong and how to fix it?

Can you please send the log and project file (metadata.xml) to Carl? The log may be large, but should compress nicely with ZIP, etc. if necessary.

Which version are you using?

Sure. You mean site admin (I suppose) Carl Hetherington? I found this user but there is no contact info in his profile, or at least I can't see it. I've attached zip archive with these files to this message for now. But I can send it whereever it needs.

Hello again! I see several downloads of attached files, any suggestions so far?

I simply made another DCP with new sound track this time but it won't always be an option, I guess...
