Framerate conversions and pitch

Post by cloud06 »

Hello everyone!

Would it be possible to use pitch-correction when converting framerate in DOM?

This would be great if you for example make 24fps DCP from 25fps source. Sound needs to be resampled (DOM already does this) but it affects pitch. There are some free solutions to this that maybe could work with DOM, like this: When doing pitch-shifting of multichannel files, it is important that shifter works with multichannel files - RubberBand has it on feature list - it doesn't break phase consistency that is important for surround sound formats.

Also, it would be great if we could use this for exporting DCPs to ProRes. HD files in PAL countries should be 25fps, so it is very logical to have option to export DCP as Rec709 ProRes with 5.1 or stereo sound at 25fps. It would make process much easier because right now I use Pro Tools for all these different conversions.

Anyone else interested in this? Maybe Carl would do this for a group-donation or something? :) This feature for DCP creation and export would be great.
