Screen vibration

Post by BeneGabor »

Hi all!

I have already made few DCP's with DCP-o-matic. They were played in 2 auditoriums, but in the first auditorium it caused screen vibration at my DCP's beginning and ending. Plus in the second auditorium it affected the whole film (by greenish-blueish vibration) and because of this the show had to be stopped, too. As far as we don't use them there aren't any problems with the shows. We use Dolby DSS200 and Christie CP2215 in both auditoriums.
What can be the source of the problem?

Thank you,
Gabor

Which version of DCP-o-matic did you use, and what was the frame rate and compression/J2K bandwidth of the DCP?

I feel unsafe about what you describe as screen vibration?!

The management of the cinema don't let to put the DCPs in the shows so i can't show you a video about this unfortunately.
Under vibration I mean green stripes flash, appear and disappear when the dcp starts and ends. It is hard to describe.
I tried with several versions, every version had this problem.
Frame rate 24, i tried J2K bandwidth with 150, 200, 250 mbit/s. It doesn't work noways.

Again, which version of DCP-o-matic did you use to create these DCPs?

Can you upload one of the CPL xml files here?

Can you try to play one of these here:

https://dcpomatic.com/dcps.php

Also, please reset your DCP-o-matic prefs. Can you try to create DCPs on a different machine with a fresh installation?

I think we never heard of such problems ever before.
