Invalid CPL signature on Barco

Hi all,

I've had a report of a "Invalid CPL signature" error when trying to play back an encrypted DCP (made by DoM) on a Barco ICMP. I've looked at the CPL's signature and can't see anything wrong. Has anybody seen anything like this before?

We would probably need to know the software version of that ICMP and the version of DCP-o-matic that has been used. I can do some testing on our ICMP.

Barco ICMP version 1.4.3.7
The DCP-o-matic version was (probably) 2.15.172.

That is not the most recent software, but still fairly recent. I'll give it a try on our ICMP.

BTW - you were talking about a pending Sony issue as well. Any details about that?

Great, thanks! Still no details on the Sony bug. I'm hoping it was the one we fixed recently (empty AnnotationText tags).

Just out of curiosity: Does it make any difference to the CPL signature, whether the DCP is encrypted or not?

Not a great difference; the CPL will just have some extra <KeyId> tags.

So, I am ready to test, but, what do you suggest which software versions on Barco and DCP-o-matic should I try?

Great - I guess a good first test might just be whatever Barco version you have and DoM 2.15.188, with an encrypted DCP. If that works we could go to the other end and try the exact versions that the reporter mentioned...?

There's a bug here which I'm using to keep track.

Okay, turns out, our Barco/ICMP is actually on a lower version than what he used (we keep our Barco on a specific version over the summer during our open air screenings, and perform software upgrades when it is not used during winter). So I can update it to the latest version, but take an intermediate step to 1.4.3.7 and test it there with a DCP as well. Then I will proceed to the very latest software.
