Is DCP FULL still not recommended, or has this changed since 2014 (start of this thread)?

No, full containers are still not recommended. And I guess they never will be. Simply because cinema projectors and screens are not set up to display full container DCPs, and many operators/systems do not know what to do with a 'C' type CPL. The intention to have C is purely for test/setup purposes.
