Playback freezes over subtitle in easyDCP

Hi -
I am experiencing unusual behaviour of a package from DCP-o-matic when testing it in easyDCP.
It plays perfectly in DCP-o-matic 2 Player.
No warning or error upon opening it in easyDCP Player+. Status is all green.
But: When playing back in easyDCP, the image freezes as soon as it arrives at a subtitle. The subtitle is not displayed. When the playhead exits the subtitle duration, the images continues to play.
DCP specs:
4K flat
same behaviour with 24fps or 25fps
same behaviour with smpte or interop
arial.ttf (<640kb)
System:
Mac Studio M1 Max
macOS Monterey
DCP-o-matic Version 2.16.40
easyDCP Player+ Version 4.1.2 (Demo mode)
(same playback issue on Macbook Air M1 with easyDCP 4.1.2)
A colleague tested my package on his system with easyDCP (I don’t know which version and system), and the subtitles played all fine.
I am worried that this freezing might also occur in theatres. It might well be a problem between easyDCP and M1 Macs, but how can I be sure?
Does anyone have an idea or insight?
Does anyone have access to an installer of an older version of easyDCP? Legacy versions don’t seem to be accessible for non-paying users on the official website.
I’m new at this forum, I hope my description is precise enough.
Thanks in advance!
