can't see subtitles

Post by kmeh7 »

Hi Carl ,

I was successfully able to open encrypted dcp but I am not able to see subtitles ?

Client says dcp has subtitles , so i checked an opendcp with subtitles in resolve and the same dcp in dcp o magic. Resolve was showing subtitles while dcp o matic was not showing any subtitles.

what could be the problem. please help. it is very urgent. i have to deliver dcp to client in 36 days

thanks in advance

Did you tick "use subtitles" in the subtitle tab?

That's strange. Perhaps you can send the XML files from your DCP to carl@dcpmatic.com sometime.

For now you could try adding the subtitle file to DCP-o-matic separately... just "add file" and choose the SMPTE subtitle file (probably the smallest MXF file in the DCP).

The 'use subtitles' tab is not very sticky

have a look at these two screen captures
1 tab selection is greyed,
2 clicking on the subtitle file above lets you activate the tab
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Another thing that might be a problem is if the subtitles are encrypted, as DCP-o-matic can't decrypt them as it is. That would need a few adjustments to the code.
