That's right. It happens when you load SRT file. But if you are loading XML timed text file it does put them in a right position.

Your disappearing double-line subtitles are due to the use of tags such as <b> within the text of the subtitle, which tripped up DCP-o-matic. This is fixed in the forthcoming 2.9.15 which will be uploaded within the next hour or so.

As I understand the SRT spec the {\am8} commands are not valid: can you point me at a reference which says they are? I think you would need to use ASS/SSA format to use these commands.

I can't point you to the reference, but I think you should talk to Nickolaj, the guy who wrote SubtitleEdit. He probably knows everything there is to know about SRT spec. His email is nikse.dk@gmail.com.

Thinking about it, if Subtitle Edit puts this stuff in .srt files we should probably take that as a de facto standard... I'll look at adding support to the .srt code in DCP-o-matic.

While talking srt code with Nickolaj... would you remind him we are waiting for
a functionning release of his MacOS SubtitleEdit.
