What is the difference between 'Modified Transitional 1', 'DCI Any' and 'DCI Specific'?

DCP-o-matic tries to select the proper KDM type automatically. Which currently is Modified Transitional 1 for both IOP and SMPTE projects, as long as you create for plain vanilla projection systems.
