CREATING A 7.1ch DCP from an MKV file
Have Just installed 7.1 at my cinema and need to create 7.1 files from MKV .. Audio can read all 8 channels but DCP converter will not allow allocation of Rear Left & Rear Right

With 'DCP converter' I assume you mean DCP-o-matic?
Which version are you using? How many channels have you assigned under the DCP->Audio tab? For a 7.1 DCP, you need to assign 12 channels and use channels 1-6 for L/R/C/LFE/LS/RS and 11&12 for BSL and BSR. Recent versions of DOM give you hints towards the channel count/mapping relation.
