Summary 0001498: Advanced options in KDM creation for watermarking needs an audio channel selection, and flipped default checkboxes
Revision 2019-03-23 14:34 by Carsten
Description

I think the watermarking for both video and audio should be enabled by default in advanced KDM prefs. That is the default intention for all encrypted DCPs.

Deactivation of watermarking is usually only needed to deactivate audio watermarking for specific non-audio channels, so a channel selection should be possible there, and I think it is wise to disable watermarking for the dbox, ATMOS and SMPTE sync tracks per default, which are on channels 13 and 14. That should address most standard applications. 15 will shortly be used for sign language video data in some countries, so, that could be excluded from watermarking as well safely.

Does the current library for KDM creation support per channel watermarking? I don't know if all KDM formulations allow per channel selection?
