Summary0001109: Percentage counter not updated in DOM Batch Converter
Description

With DOM version 2.11.16 the percentage counter in the Batch Converter stays on 1% while building a DCP.
See the uploaded image. The "Encoderen 1%" part does not change.
The rest of the window info does change during the DCP build.

(haven't tested the main DOM application, maybe its percentage counter doesn't work too!)

Oh, and note that the progress bar isn't growing too!

Making different version of the DCP, I noticed the progress info wasn't updated at all.

a "vague" datapoint .. : I recreated the .mkv from the Blu-ray, now with only the DTS_MA / DTS sound tracks and leaving out the TRUEHD / DD ones.
So far everything looks fine during the DCP build: changing percentage & progress bar ..

The DCP creation with the DTS_MA / DTS sound tracks went flawlessly.

I recreated another .mkv from the Blu-ray, this time with only the TRUEHD / DD sound tracks (and leaving out the DTS stuff).
Building a DCP from this leads to the problems again:

  • percentage / progress bar not updated
  • seemingly ever increasing memory usage by DOM process

Other interesting things:

  • garbled audio in the preview (DTS had no problems)
  • many repeated errors in the log with "WARNING: Crazy timestamp [CONT -9223372036854775808 -96076792050570,578125s]"

So it seems the problems are related to the TRUEHD / DD sound tracks.
(or icm with this Blu-ray source)

Some more testing seems to indicate that just having a Dolby TrueHD track in your source leads to having problems in DOM 2.11.16.
These problems appear even if you don't use the TrueHD track at all !

The problems are:

  • no sound or garbled sound in the preview
  • no sound or garbled sound in the DCP
  • excessive memory usage during DCP creation
  • not updating progress meters/info during DCP creation

I believe this is just related to the True HD problems which are discussed in 0001111.
