I think this is about how to deal with overlapping content. For video there's this ignore_video period in the Piece which is set up based on the sort order of the playlist content; the ContentSorter uses digest if all else is equal. So - basically random. Need to improve this in a few ways:

  • show in the timeline what is being ignored and what is being used (I guess at least the "winner" will always be lower in the timeline view and the content list)
  • allow the user to say which gets priority if there's no difference other than digest
  • perhaps do something "intelligent" with OV/VF - in this bug the user expected a second ATMOS file in the VF would overwrite the one in the OV.

The OV/VF case usually works out because content with video comes before content without (so a DCP comes before some ATMOS content in a VF).
