Hello yet again,
I've encountered this issue before, but always ended up ignoring it and making a burned version instead.
When making a VF file, specifically only for subtitles (using OV's sound and image), I've noticed that even when I change the subs' size or offset, it ends up with the "native" characteristics. For example, If I make a VF file changing none of those specs, and one changing the scale, they will end up looking the same. At least when I replay them on the DCPomatic Player.
My need on changing these specs relies on the fact that the subs appear too big, when on the 100% scale size. I always end up changing it to 70-75%.
Is there a reason this happens? I'm using a srt file, if that makes any difference.
Thanks!

Re: VF file - Subtitle Size
Hi,
That is strange. I just tried it myself and things seemed to work as expected.
Perhaps it's a platform-specific problem. Are you using Windows or Mac?
What version of DCP-o-matic are you using?
Best,
Carl

Hi Carl,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm using a Mac (Mac Mini with M1 chip, and on version 12.3.1). I'm currently on version 12.3.1 of DCPomatic.
Thanks for getting back to me.

Can you check that version of DCP-o-matic again? I don't recognise it.

Hi Carl,
Sorry, I somehow wrote a completely different number. It's version 2.16.35.

Thanks! I still can't reproduce this, even testing on a mac.
Is it possible to attach or email me an example VF that has the wrong size subtitles?

Hi carl,
Sorry for the immensely late reply.
Do you want the OV and VF, or a screenshot?
Thanks

Hi carl,
Sorry for the (again) terrible late reply. For some reason, this problem stopped happening, and I seem to be able to adjust size and position on VF's. If it happens again, I'll get in touch. Thanks!
