CC not appearing in file metadata name

Post by randomruth »

I have an srt file that I'm trying to include in the DCP I'm making. I have imported it, chosen the closed caption setting in the timed text panel, added a CCAP track, and named it, designated the language but when the job is done, the metadata doesn't include CC. Here's how it reads: Hemorrhage_SHR-1-30_F-133_EN-XX_51_2K_20230911_SMPTE_OV

I assume the XX is where the closed caption info should be, correct? What am I missing?

Post the metadata.xml file here. Maybe we can see what setting is missing.

thanks. when I play the DCP back in the player, I can see the closed captions in the separate window. So they're there. But it would seem important to have it in the metadata name. As a short term solution, since I have to submit this DCP in the next day or two, would it be okay to just add the letters to the metadata name? Would I add CC after the EN (so it reads EN-CC)?

The details are here so I think if for example your CCAPs are in German your name should be

Hemorrhage_SHR-1-30_F-133_EN-DE-CCAP_51_2K_20230911_SMPTE_OV

Yes, just choose 'copy as name', then add the CC language and CCAP indicator.
