DCP with dolby ATMOS and SLV

Post by gustavozuch »

Hi guys!
Ran into a situation over here. =/

The idea is to generate a DCP with both ATMOS and SLV.
The issue is that when I add the ATMOS mxf, DCP-o-matic locks in the 14 channel configuration. Making it impossible to change to 16 channels to add the SLV track to channel 15th.
My question is whether this is necessary or just some kind of bug.
Since Atmos (as far as I know) only makes use of channel 14.

Running version 2.16.47

Best regards

I'm doing a DCP test to see if it outputs the 16 channels even though it locked in 14 channels.
In the process I came across this:

It didn't appear when I generated the same DCP without SLV (only 5.1 and ATMOS)

I'll comeback later when the DCP is done.

See ya!

Unfortunately it did'nt come as I expected!
It generated a 14ch audio track (keeping out the SLV track).

I'll keep trying...

Are you sure? How do you notice DCP-o-matic is locking in a 14ch configuration?

Hi Carsten!

As soon as I add the ATMOS mxf, it grays out the channel box in the 14th channel in audio tab of the DCP.

I had a quick look and it seems that this behaviour is deliberate, but wrong (if you see what I mean). So, a bug in other words. I added it to the tracker.

Perhaps you could try this build of DCP-o-matic and see if it behaves how you expect.

I think it worked!

The channel situation seems ok!
I still didn't tested it in an ATMOS room.

My deadline was today, so i had to release two versions of the DCP.
One with ATMOS, and other with SLV.

If possible, I will test it and replace both. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the effort!
It means a lot!

Great, let us know how you get on if you test it. I'll add that fix to the next release.
