1.66:1 film export
I have a 3840x2160 Movie File. We are using a 1:66 mask for the film. I need to export the file for a 2K DCP, and mostly SCOPE. Should I add the Mask in the Exported File, and what resolution should the file be? I feel it should just be 2048x1080? Any input would be appreciated.

It should end up in a 1.85:1 container, so I would export either 1792x1080 (1.66:1) or 1998x1080 (1.85:1) with pillarboxing i.e. black bars down the sides. Then in DoM make a "flat" DCP.

I don't understand - 1.66 mask, 'and mostly scope'? Maybe throw up some images to show what you want to achieve?

Thanks for your quick reply. Here is an image with the 1:66 mask in UHD. It's almost a 1:85 mask.

hi,
your aspect ratio appears to be 2.20. So the height of the useful image must be within the height of the DCP Scope DCI (i.e. 858 px)
in the content tab you 'll have to crop the top by 206 pixels and the bottom too to zoom into your content.

Usually, you would place this letterboxed into a 1.85:1 container/DCP.
