I hope this isn't a dumb question.
I'm creating a DCP of my feature length film for cinema delivery for film fests from a pro res mov file. The film edit and exported mov have a stereo audio mix. Is "2 - Stereo" what I choose in DCP-o-matic for export? It's defaulting to 6 - 5.1...and then I get a warning when I go to export that it should be set to 8 or 16. But should I actually be setting it to 2 - stereo??
Thanks in advance!

Both will work. There had been some rumours that some systems would not like 2 channel DCPs, but, if at all true, these must have been very early systems or bad software versions. You can still use the default 5.1, it will just blow up your audio file sizes a little bit, but is usually neglectable compared to the video size.

Okay awesome. Thank you so much.
Quick follow-up question...does 5.1 just send the stereo mix equally to those 5 channels do you know?
And yes, I had remembered reading something about choosing the 5.1 instead of Stereo based on that rumour, but if it's not really a thing, then perhaps best to stick to the stereo.

No, it just puts the stereo mix in L + R and silence in the other channels.Quick follow-up question...does 5.1 just send the stereo mix equally to those 5 channels do you know?
